Dance Industry legend Sarah Brinson hosts sought-after masterclasses across North America. She also produces publications, arts education programming, and consults on audience engagement.
Without leaving behind her dance occupation, Sarah wants to expand her line into other fields and share more of her sparkling personality with her audience. Sarah’s newest project is a foray into motivational comedy. (The title of her new show, "Afraid to Speak" is a funny look into her past as a mute child and how she overcame adversity through performing arts and comedy.) Unfortunately, her current branding is solely geared towards her dance business.
PROCESS
Research—A dedicated discovery session reveals that Sarah needs a solution that gives her the flexibility to engage with different audiences; she wants the brand to feel personal and colourful.
Mood Boards—Arrangement of references, paying special attention to photography, colour palette, and typography.
Idea Generation—Concept—To help Sarah to share more of herself with her audience, the branding looks like she has doodled all over it. Prompting Sarah to hand-write some cheeky phrases and make some whimsical illustrations.
Photography—Poppy, goofy, emotional, and honest.
Colour Palette—Soft pastels give the aesthetic a light, feminine feel; while black accents keep the design modern and eye-catching.
Typography—Large eye-grabbing headlines; it’s fun, personality-filled, and flexible.
Logo Design—A high contrast monogram mark combined with logotype.
Design—Curves and circles echo the sinuousness of the logo design.
