A management agency comprised of strategists and marketing consultants, GB Brand Management specializes in creating solutions for small businesses and entrepreneurs. GBBM wants to grow their client base, but needs a visual identity which incites confidence in their target audience.
PROCESS
Research—Understanding the client as a business and service—research uncovers that GBBM values emotional intelligence and is motivated by empathy. Profiling the target audience of entrepreneurs between the ages of 40 – 60.
Mood Boards—Special attention is paid to clarifying the agency’s brand archetype and standpoint.
Idea Generation—Concept—The agency’s personality is sagacious; GB Brand Management believes in analyzing patterns and seeking information. A parallel is drawn to the Islamic and European alchemists of the High Middle Ages. Accordingly, the overall concept portrays GBBM as a modern equivalent of the medieval alchemists. Alchemists engaged in a seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination and guarded their work in secrecy using cyphers.
Colour Palette—A deep purple calms the mind, offers a sense of spirituality, and encourages the imagination. Grey is the colour of intellect and is perceived as long-lasting, classic, and tasteful. The combination elicits a sense of creativity and refinement.
Typography—Using a sans serif typeface in a systemized and uncluttered way, type is paired with runic glyphs.
Logo Design—Abbreviating the brand name to GBBM informs the logo design. The acronymic logo mark features precise angles, consideration of space, and bears a deliberate resemblance to runes or glyphs to reinforce the concept.
Design—Geometric symbols, and a triangular block of colour (derived from an angle in the logo design), are used as consistent unifying design elements.
